Three things, one counter
Crepes
We pour the batter on the iron when you order. Sweet ones come with fruit sauces we make here. Savory ones are a full meal: eggs, ham, chicken, or fresh mushrooms. See the crepes.
Coffee
Espresso drinks, cold brew, matcha, and a Ugandan drip for $3.49. Our espresso uses Ugandan beans among other origins. About our coffee.
Ice cream
Our ice cream comes from Taharka Brothers, a small-batch ice cream maker in Baltimore. A single scoop is $3.25 in a cup. Pour an espresso over it and it is an affogato. Scoops and flavors.

Saturday hours are the same as weekdays. Street parking is free on weekends.

The family behind the counter
We are Cedric and Yefon. We opened 96 Royal on December 19, 2025, a few minutes' walk from the Maryland Theatre.
The name is our address and our belief: the people who grow our food should be treated like royalty. Cedric founded Roots Africa, a nonprofit that trains young changemakers to work with farming families in Uganda, Liberia, and Cameroon. He volunteers his time there. The cafe is that belief with a crepe iron and an espresso machine.

Fantastic place! We had the mushroom and spinach crepe and the strawnana crepe with Nutella. Everything was delicious and the coffee was perfect. Owner/staff are lovely. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful interior, meticulously decorated, pleasant smiling staff, phenomenal crepes. I just had a cortado here as well and it was perfectly made. Highly recommend!
